At East Texas Elite Kennels, we offer extensive gun dog training using modern techniques at our state-of-the-art training grounds. Our multiple training grounds are accessible all year round. We offer "started" training for your younger retriever to ensure he gets a solid foundation that will lead right into our "advanced" training program.
If your hunting partner isn't performing as you want or your pup is still young and needs to be trained in the hunting world, you can rely on us for help. Started gun dog training is a three to four-month process that will get your dog ready to pass an AKC junior test or UKC-started test.
After completing the "started" training, you should expect your dog to be obedient on the commands of sit (sit means sit until I tell you to move)-heel-here-place-kennel, retrieving singles on both land and water, force fetch, collar conditioned, intro into doubles, have seen both live and dead birds, and whistle trained. Your dog will be ready to accompany you on your next trip to the blind. He is going to retrieve what he sees fall, and be well on his way to being a great all-around retriever. We compete in AKC and UKC events, so please let us know if you'd like to title your partner at a sanctioned hunt test event.
After "advanced" gun dog training, you should expect retrieving doubles on land and water, running cold blinds with hand signals, and honoring other dogs while hunting. Your dog will also be able to pass an AKC senior or UKC seasoned test. Depending on the time of the training, we will take your partner to the prestigious AKC master hunter or UKC to finish the test.
We encourage you to be involved in your dog's training by coming along to training and learning the ropes. Call East Texas Elite Kennels to learn more about our gun dog training classes.

I don’t usually go out of my way to write a review on Google unless something goes bad, but this is the first I’ll leave a positive review on Google because it is well deserved! I brought in my 1.5-year-old troublemaker boxer. Ryan and his team turned him into an obedient and well-trained dog that I enjoy showing off to my friends. Not only does he know cool tricks, but he listens to me for the first time by myself and with guests around. The staff was very friendly and are always a phone call away if I need any help moving forward.
